When do your loyalty points expire? Every UK scheme’s rules
Rules checked 6 Oct 2026 to 7 Oct 2026 · How we verify
Points are lost in two ways. Some schemes give each point a set life, so it goes on its date however often you shop. Others put no date on points but take them from an account left unused. Most schemes have one rule; a few have both.
Of the 9 schemes we cover, Tesco Clubcard, Boots Advantage Card, H&B&Me and Nectar Card put no date on points: they last while you keep using the card. The other 5 give each point, or Sparks reward, a set life of 12 months to 2 years. The safe rule: use every card at least once every 12 months.
