Avios: The British Airways Club, BA Holidays and partners
Offers checked 26 Oct 2026 · How we verify offers
Avios are the reward currency of seven airline clubs: The British Airways Club, Iberia Club, AerClub (Aer Lingus), Vueling Club, Qatar Airways Privilege Club, Finnair Plus and Loganair Loyalty. Your club account holds your Avios. For most people in the UK that is The British Airways Club, which BA says is free to join.
You collect Avios on British Airways flights and British Airways Holidays packages, at partner hotels, and with brands such as LeShuttle, Royal Caribbean, Heathrow Express and The Wine Flyer, each booked on its own site with your club number. A British Airways Holidays package pays 1 bonus Avios per £1 on top of the Avios for the flight, and BA runs bonus offers on top of that, such as up to 20,000 bonus Avios on Universal Orlando packages booked by 10 November 2026.
Spent on PizzaExpress vouchers, 1,000 Avios take £5 off, so an Avios is worth 0.5p that way. Reward flights, upgrades and part payment on BA flights and holidays give their own values, which BA does not fix. Your Avios last as long as you collect, spend, buy or share at least one every 36 months.
- Usual rate
- 1 Avios per £1
- Bonus Avios on a British Airways Holidays package, on top of the Avios for the flight.

- 1,000 Avios take £5 off at PizzaExpress: £5 ÷ 1,000 = 0.5p an Avios.
- Nectar exchange

- And 400 Avios make 400 Nectar points, in steps of 400 either way.
- Avios expire
- After 36 months unused
- Collecting, spending, buying or sharing at least one Avios resets the clock.

How to collect Avios faster
Book a British Airways Holidays package with your club number
Members of The British Airways Club registered in the UK collect 1 bonus Avios per £1 on flight + hotel and flight + car packages, and on hotels, car hire and sightseeing booked on ba.com or through BA’s contact centre. That comes on top of the usual Avios for the flight and car hire, which depend on how far you fly, your cabin and your club tier. A £2,000 package earns 2,000 bonus Avios (£10 at 0.5p each) plus the flight Avios. Bonus Avios go to the lead passenger, and the flight in the package must start in the UK.
Watch for bonus Avios offers on BA Holidays
BA adds campaign bonuses to some destinations. For packages booked from 9 October to 10 November 2026, a package with at least 7 nights at one Universal Orlando hotel, for travel between 1 January and 30 September 2027, earns 5,000, 10,000 or 20,000 bonus Avios by hotel, plus 2,500 when park tickets are added at booking. It is one booking per member, the club number must be added at booking, and the usual 1 Avios per £1 still applies.
Choose The British Airways Club at partner hotels
At IHG Hotels & Resorts you collect 2 Avios per US$1 at most brands (1 at Candlewood Suites and Staybridge Suites) once your IHG One Rewards earning preference is set to The British Airways Club, booking with IHG or the hotel rather than an online travel agent. Marriott Bonvoy pays 2 Avios per US$1 at full-service brands such as Marriott, Sheraton and Westin (1 at Courtyard, Moxy and others), and Accor 2.5 Avios per €2 at Sofitel, Novotel, Mercure and others, each with The British Airways Club set as your earning preference. BA’s hotels page also lists Airbnb (2 Avios per £1, €1 or $1). Hotel points can be converted too: 10,000 IHG One Rewards points make 2,000 Avios.
Book travel extras direct with your club number
LeShuttle pays 3 Avios per £1 on Standard and similar tickets and 6 on Flexiplus, booked direct, with your club number added in your LeShuttle account within 7 days of booking. Royal Caribbean pays 3 Avios per £1 on the cruise fare, booked direct in the UK, Ireland or Spain in a balcony stateroom or suite, with the number entered at booking (it can’t be added later). Heathrow Express pays 5 Avios per £1 on tickets bought in advance on its British Airways Club page only; tickets bought on its main site or on the train earn none.
Buy wine from The Wine Flyer
The Wine Flyer, run by IAG Loyalty Retail, pays a core rate of 5 Avios per £1 on single orders and subscriptions, with no Avios on delivery charges. It runs short promotions at a higher rate: quadruple Avios (20 per £1) on most of its range for a week in October 2026, then triple Avios on selected premium wines. Any that is running is listed on this page.
Turn Nectar points into Avios
Link your Nectar and British Airways Club accounts and 400 Nectar points make 250 Avios, by hand or with a weekly automatic conversion each time you reach 400. Nectar and Avios sometimes add a conversion bonus for a month, with its own terms; any that is running is listed on this page.
Collect at Heathrow
Heathrow Rewards pays 1 point per £1 in Heathrow’s shops, bars and restaurants, on Official Heathrow Airport Parking and on pre-booked Heathrow Express tickets, and 250 Heathrow Rewards points convert to 250 Avios. BA also pays 5 Avios per £1 on valet parking at Heathrow Terminals 3 and 5 and on airport parking booked through its ParkVia site.
How to spend Avios
Reward Flights cost a fixed number of Avios plus a cash amount for taxes, fees and carrier charges, on British Airways and its oneworld partners where seats are available. BA’s examples (correct as of December 2025) start at 10,000 Avios + £1 each way, and a Club World business seat from 154,000 Avios + £250 return. You can also use Avios to upgrade a cash booking to the next cabin.
Part payment takes money off a BA flight or British Airways Holidays booking from as little as 1,000 Avios. BA’s page states no rate: the savings you can choose show on the payment page and vary by destination, cabin and party size.
Avios also pay for hotel stays, Avis and Budget car hire, seats and bags, LeShuttle vouchers, High Life Shop products and wine at The Wine Flyer, where a slider at checkout sets how many Avios you use. PizzaExpress vouchers start at 1,000 Avios for £5, in amounts from £5 to £250. 400 Avios become 400 Nectar points.
How we reach 0.5p: 1,000 Avios for a £5 PizzaExpress voucher is £5 ÷ 1,000 = 0.5p an Avios. The Wine Flyer’s Premium Champagne Selection case gives the same: £129.99, or £6.49 plus 24,700 Avios, so 24,700 Avios cover £123.50, which is 0.5p each.

Avios FAQ
Are there any Avios offers right now?
Yes, there are currently 11 live Avios offers on this page, each checked on the brand's own site.
How much is an Avios worth?
Spent on PizzaExpress vouchers, 1,000 Avios take £5 off, which makes an Avios worth 0.5p, and The Wine Flyer’s checkout values them the same way on its Avios Saver case. Reward flights, upgrades and part payment give their own values, which change with the fare, so BA sets no fixed figure for them.
How many Avios do you get on a BA holiday?
A British Airways Holidays package pays 1 bonus Avios per £1 to UK-registered members of The British Airways Club, plus the usual Avios for the flight, which depend on distance, cabin and club tier. BA’s holidays page says the bonus Avios reach the lead passenger about four to six weeks after the trip; the Universal Orlando terms say package Avios can take up to 14 days and that offer’s bonus up to 8 weeks.
Do Avios expire?
Not on a fixed date. Your Avios stay as long as you collect, spend, buy or share at least one Avios every 36 months. After 36 months with none of those, all your Avios expire, and the avios.com terms say your membership does too. Moving Avios between clubs with Combine My Avios does not count as collecting or spending.
What is The British Airways Club?
It is British Airways’ own Avios club, and BA says it is free to join. Your club account holds your Avios and tier points, and its number is what you give BA Holidays, LeShuttle, Royal Caribbean, IHG and the other partners so they can credit you. It is one of seven airline clubs that use Avios.
How do I convert Nectar points to Avios?
Link your Nectar account to your British Airways Club account (one to one, with matching names), then convert by hand or set up automatic conversion. 400 Nectar points make 250 Avios, and 400 Avios make 400 Nectar points, always in steps of 400.
Can you collect Avios at The Wine Flyer?
Yes. The Wine Flyer pays a core rate of 5 Avios per £1 on single orders and subscriptions, more during its short promotions, and none on delivery charges. You can also spend Avios there with the slider at checkout, signed in with your British Airways Club account.
Can you collect Avios at IHG hotels?
Yes, if you are an IHG One Rewards member with The British Airways Club as your earning preference: 2 Avios per US$1 at most IHG brands, including Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza and InterContinental, and 1 per US$1 at Candlewood Suites and Staybridge Suites. Book with IHG or the hotel, not an online travel agent. BA says the Avios arrive about six weeks after the stay, and 10,000 IHG points can also be converted into 2,000 Avios.
Do you collect Avios on car hire?
Yes, but the two sides give different figures. BA’s car rental page says Avis pays 5 Avios per £1 and Budget 2 per £1, while Avis’s own partners page says British Airways members earn 3 points per £1, with at least 500 per rental, through its British Airways microsite. Car hire booked as part of a British Airways Holidays package also earns the 1 bonus Avios per £1.
What are bonus Avios offers?
They are time-limited extras on top of the usual rates, each with its own dates and terms: British Airways Holidays bonuses on chosen destinations, such as up to 20,000 bonus Avios on Universal Orlando packages booked by 10 November 2026, The Wine Flyer’s short boosts, and bonuses on Nectar conversions. The running ones are listed on this page.
