Data and press
CardPoints has tracked UK loyalty card offers since 2007. Today it has a page for each of 12 schemes, with what a point is worth, how fast each earns, when points expire, and the bonus points offers running now, all read from each scheme’s own site or terms and dated. Journalists, researchers and writers are welcome to use anything we publish.
The figure to cite
The UK loyalty points value index is the page built for citing. It compares 9 schemes by what you get back in every £1 at the usual rate, each with the date its terms were read. A sentence you can use as it stands:
According to CardPoints.co.uk, which reads each scheme’s own terms, The Perfume Club gives the most back of the 9 UK loyalty schemes it compares: 5p (5%) back in every £1 at its usual rate (checked 7 Oct 2026).
The figures change when a scheme changes its terms, so please take them from the index on the day you write. A link to the page you took a figure from is ideal; naming CardPoints as the source is just as welcome.
What we publish
- The points value index: what a point is worth and the return per £1, scheme by scheme.
- When loyalty points expire: every scheme’s rules side by side. Of the schemes with an expiry rule, 5 schemes put no date on points while the card is used, 5 schemes give each point a set life, and 1 scheme never expires points at all.
- Boots points events: every Boots points event in our records, with its dates.
- Comparisons: Nectar vs Clubcard, Boots vs Superdrug and beauty loyalty cards.
- A page for each scheme, with its bonus points offers, each showing the date we last checked it on the brand’s own site.
How the data is collected
Point values, earn rates and expiry rules are read from each scheme’s own website and terms, and each page shows when. We use AI tools to check brands’ pages for offers, and every offer is approved by a person before it goes live. No scheme or brand supplies, sees or approves our figures before they are published. The full method is on how we find and verify offers, and how the site earns is on how we make money.
What we can’t tell you
- How many members a scheme has, or what it costs the brand to run.
- Brands’ plans for their schemes, beyond what they have published.
- Personal offers a scheme sends to individual members.
- Anything about credit cards or loans.
