Open to UK members. Any adult in the UK can join Hilton Honors free, and a stay paid in pounds earns points too: Hilton converts the bill into US dollars each week, which is why we quote its rates in US$.
Hilton Honors is Hilton’s free loyalty programme, which you can join online or in the Hilton Honors app. Hilton spells it the American way on its UK site too, though many people in the UK search for Hilton Honours. You collect points on stays across the Hilton portfolio, from Hampton by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn to DoubleTree, Curio Collection, Conrad and Waldorf Astoria, and spend them on reward nights with no blackout dates.
Points are earned per US dollar: 10 points per US$1 at most brands, on the room rate and other eligible charges to your room. Hilton converts spend in other currencies into US dollars each week at a rate it chooses, so we give the rates in US dollars, as Hilton does.
Hilton sets no fixed value for a point: reward nights are priced by hotel, demand and the room rate. Your points stay in your account while it has activity at least once every 24 months.

Stays, nights and spend move you up a tier; the points you earn do not. A stay with a bill of US$500 earns 5,000 points as a Member and 9,000 at Gold.
From Silver up, every fifth night of an all-points standard-room reward stay is free. Every member also earns 10,000 Milestone Bonus Points at 40 eligible nights in a calendar year, and 10,000 more for every 10 nights after that, up to 180 nights, with an extra 30,000 at 60 nights and a choice of 30,000 points or an upgrade at 120.
How to collect Hilton Honors points faster
Register for Hilton’s points promotions
Hilton runs member-only points promotions that you register for on its website. Register before you check out: More Points to Play, for example, pays nothing on a stay completed before you registered, but counts stays you had already booked. Any promotion running now is listed on this page with its dates.
Book the 2X Points rate when the price is close
The 2X Points rate pays a bonus equal to your Base Points, so 10 points per US$1 becomes 20. Hilton offers it at hotels across the Hilton Honors portfolio, subject to availability, and it may not be combined with some other promotions. Compare its price with the cheapest rate before you book.
Book with Hilton, not another website
Hilton’s terms list “third-party website bookings (irrespective of rate paid)” among stays that earn nothing, with opaque bookings, wholesale and tour-operator packages and travel agency discount rates. Book on Hilton’s website or app, as a member, to collect points.
Let status multiply your points
10 nights in a calendar year makes you Silver (12 points per US$1 at most brands) and 25 nights makes you Gold (18). On a US$500 bill that is 6,000 or 9,000 points instead of 5,000.
Book car hire through Hilton
Hilton pays bonus points on Alamo, Enterprise and National car hire booked through its website, on top of the points for giving your Hilton Honors number with the rental. Any car hire offer running now is listed on this page.
Pool points with family and friends
You can pool or transfer points with other members in steps of 1,000: up to 500,000 sent and 2,000,000 received a year, with 6 transfers and 6 pooling transactions.
How to spend Hilton Honors points
Reward nights at participating hotels, with no blackout dates: pay all in points for a standard or premium room, or mix points and money from 5,000 points, in steps of 1,000. Hilton prices reward nights by hotel, demand and the current room rate, and prices can change in real time, so there is no fixed number of points per night.
From Silver up, every fifth night of an all-points standard-room reward stay of five nights or more is free, up to four free nights a stay.
Hilton also lists Experiences, car hire with Alamo, National and Enterprise, airline transfers, Lyft rides and shopping at Amazon.com (the US Amazon site) as ways to use points.
Lyft credit costs 450 points per US$1, for rides in the United States and Canada, under the Hilton Honors and Lyft offer terms.

Do Hilton Honours points expire?
Only if your account has no activity for 24 months in a row: Hilton can then remove all its points. The terms count a stay at a Hilton hotel, or earning, buying or donating points; Hilton’s FAQ says to keep earning or redeeming points. Doing any of these at least once every 24 months keeps the whole balance.
Is there a Hilton bonus points promotion now?
Hilton’s More Points to Play promotion covers stays completed from 15 October to 31 December 2026. Registered members earn 1,000 bonus points per stay, or 3,000 at luxury, lifestyle and resort hotels, reward stays included. You must register before you check out, and a stay that ends after 31 December earns no bonus. Bonus points take 6 to 8 weeks to arrive.
What is the Hilton double points offer?
The 2X Points rate: book it and Hilton adds a bonus equal to your Base Points, so 10 points per US$1 becomes 20. Look for “2X Points” when booking; the minimum stay is one night. The bonus does not count towards status, and can take up to eight weeks to arrive.
