Hotels.com Rewards and One Key: Hotels.comCash on Hotels.com, Expedia and Vrbo
Offers checked 5 Nov 2026 · How we verify offers
Hotels.com Rewards and One Key are Expedia Group’s travel rewards in the UK: one free account, one balance and one set of terms across Hotels.com, Expedia and Vrbo. On Hotels.com the scheme has been called Hotels.com Rewards since 8 April 2026; on Expedia and Vrbo it is still One Key.
There are no points. Both pay credit worth £1 for every £1, called Hotels.comCash on Hotels.com and OneKeyCash on Expedia and Vrbo. The terms say the two names are “interchangeable and synonymous”, and OneKeyCash earned on Expedia or Vrbo shows in your Hotels.com account as Hotels.comCash.
Each brand pays its own way. Hotels.com gives £100 in Hotels.comCash every time you stay 10 eligible nights, where each booking averages £75 or more a night including taxes and fees. Expedia pays 2% back in OneKeyCash on hotels, holiday rentals, packages, car hire and activities, and 0.2% on flights. Vrbo pays 1% to Silver members and 2% to Gold and Platinum members; Blue members earn nothing there. Member Prices and tier perks are discounts, not credit, so we describe them but don’t list them as offers.

How Hotels.com Rewards and One Key pay
On Hotels.com you collect a night for every room, every night you stay at an eligible hotel or holiday rental. A booking’s nights count only if its average cost is £75 a night or more, including taxes and fees and after any discounts. Nights paid wholly or partly with Hotels.comCash, a gift card or a coupon don’t count, and nor do car hire, gift cards, insurance or Groups & Meetings bookings. At 10 nights you get £100 in Hotels.comCash: up to 3 days after the 10th night if every night was Pay Now, or up to 35 days if any was Pay Later or a holiday rental. The count then starts again from 0, or from the nights over 10.
One answer in Hotels.com’s FAQ says the £75 average excludes taxes and fees. The terms, and the same page’s own footnote, say it includes them, so we give the terms’ reading.
What the £100 is worth depends on the price of your nights. At the £75 minimum, 10 nights cost £750 and the £100 is 13.3% back; at £150 a night they cost £1,500 and it is 6.7%. A booking that averages under £75 a night adds nothing towards the £100.
On Expedia, One Key pays 2% back in OneKeyCash for every £1 spent, excluding taxes and fees, on hotels, holiday rentals, activities, packages and car hire, and 0.2% on flights: £20 on a £1,000 hotel stay, £1 on a £500 flight. Flights booked on an airline’s own site, third-party package holidays, insurance and Groups & Meetings bookings earn nothing. At VIP Access properties, Silver, Gold and Platinum members get more (in the table below). Those rates include the 2%, rather than adding to it.
On Vrbo, what you earn on holiday rentals and hotels, excluding taxes and fees, goes by your tier (in the table below). Vrbo’s own page still says Hotels.com pays 2%, but since 8 April 2026 the terms give Hotels.com only the £100-per-10-nights reward.
Tiers are shared across the three brands and counted in nights or trip elements in a calendar year. A trip element is a hotel or holiday rental night, a flight ticket, a car hire day, a transfer or an activity ticket; on Expedia and Vrbo each must be worth £20 or more, excluding taxes and fees, while Hotels.com nights count whatever they cost. A tier lasts the rest of that year, all of the next, and until 28 February after that.
| One Key tier | To reach, in a calendar year | Expedia VIP Access properties | Vrbo |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blue | Where everyone starts | No VIP Access rate | Nothing |
| Silver | 5 nights or trip elements | 3% back | 1% back |
| Gold | 15 nights or trip elements | 4% back | 2% back |
| Platinum | 30 nights or trip elements | 6% back | 2% back |
Hotels.com may also add extra Hotels.comCash to a booking through an offer or promotion. Hotels.com says this extra won’t appear while you shop or at checkout: it is added as pending after the booking if you meet the offer’s conditions, and it may expire sooner than other Hotels.comCash. We found no such offer on the public pages we read, so there is none to list here.
We list each brand’s standing earn rate, checked in the terms. Member Prices, VIP Access perks and Price Drop Protection are discounts, perks or refunds, not credit you earn. Save Your Way lets you take a Member Price saving as Hotels.comCash instead of off the price, at no fixed rate, so it isn’t listed either.
How to collect Hotels.comCash faster
Sign in before you book
Hotels.comCash, OneKeyCash, nights and trip elements are earned only by a member who is signed in when the booking is made. Nothing is earned on a guest booking, or if you create an account after booking. The account holder earns for the whole booking, whoever is travelling.
Keep Hotels.com bookings at £75 a night or more
On Hotels.com, a booking whose nights average under £75, including taxes and fees and after discounts, adds nothing towards the £100, though its nights still count for your tier.
Don’t pay with Hotels.comCash when you’re close to 10 nights
Nights paid wholly or partly with Hotels.comCash don’t count towards the £100, though they still count for your tier. On a stay of several nights, Hotels.com spreads the cash you apply from the first night at the average nightly rate, so apply only what you need.
Reach Silver for Vrbo and VIP Access
Silver needs 5 nights or trip elements in a calendar year, across all three brands. It starts your earning on Vrbo (1%, then 2% from Gold) and lifts VIP Access properties on Expedia to 3% (Gold 4%, Platinum 6%).
Book flights with a hotel on Expedia
Flights alone earn 0.2% on Expedia, but a package of flight and hotel earns 2% on the package, excluding taxes and fees. OneKeyCash can’t be spent on packages, though, so use it on another booking.
Claim missing rewards within 180 days
If a booking’s Hotels.comCash, OneKeyCash or nights don’t appear, contact that brand’s customer service within 180 days of completing the stay or trip.
How to spend Hotels.comCash and OneKeyCash
Once your credit is available, choose how much to use at checkout on a Pay Now hotel or a participating holiday rental on Hotels.com, Expedia or Vrbo, or on Pay Now car hire and activities on Expedia. It can cover taxes and fees paid at booking, there are no blackout dates, and anything left stays in your account. If it covers only part of the price, the rest must be paid by credit or debit card.
On Expedia you can spend OneKeyCash on selected flights, but only if you have enough to cover the whole fare, taxes and fees included. It can’t pay for bags, seat choice or flight changes; you can buy extras after booking.
It cannot be spent on Pay Later bookings, buy now pay later payments, packages, bookings already paid, insurance or car hire on Hotels.com, cancellation or change fees, or anything paid to the hotel at check-in or check-out. It can’t be exchanged for cash or moved to another member, but you can use it on a booking in someone else’s name. Hotels.com’s FAQ says it can be combined with a voucher on the remaining balance, while the terms say it can’t be combined with coupons “unless stated otherwise”.
The £100-per-10-nights reward is only available in the UK. Credit earned in another country may sit on that country’s Hotels.com site.

Hotels.com Rewards FAQ
Are there any Hotels.com Rewards offers right now?
Yes, there are currently 4 live Hotels.com Rewards offers on this page, each checked on the brand's own site.
How does Hotels.com Rewards work in the UK?
Join free with an account on Hotels.com, sign in before you book, and you collect a night for every eligible night you stay. Each time you reach 10 nights you get £100 in Hotels.comCash, as long as each booking averages £75 or more a night including taxes and fees. £1 of Hotels.comCash is £1 off a later Pay Now hotel or holiday rental, with no blackout dates. The same account is One Key on Expedia and Vrbo, which pay a percentage back instead.
Has Hotels.com Rewards changed?
Yes. On 8 April 2026 Hotels.com in the UK left One Key for the new Hotels.com Rewards, which pays £100 in Hotels.comCash for every 10 nights. Before that, Hotels.com was part of One Key and paid OneKeyCash; earlier still, the old Hotels.com Rewards gave a stamp a night and a reward night for every 10 stamps. Old stamps, reward nights and OneKeyCash earned on Hotels.com were converted to Hotels.comCash. Trips booked before your move to the new scheme earn the previous One Key rate and don’t count towards the £100.
What is OneKeyCash?
The credit One Key pays on Expedia and Vrbo: 2% back on most Expedia bookings (0.2% on flights), and 1% to 2% on Vrbo from Silver tier. £1 in OneKeyCash is £1 off a later Pay Now booking on Expedia, Hotels.com or Vrbo. It is not cash and can’t be exchanged for cash.
Is Hotels.comCash the same as OneKeyCash?
Yes. The terms say Hotels.comCash is “interchangeable and synonymous” with OneKeyCash. It is one balance in one account, called Hotels.comCash on Hotels.com and OneKeyCash on Expedia and Vrbo, and £1 of it is £1 off on any of the three.
Does Hotels.comCash or OneKeyCash expire?
Only if you stop using your account. Available Hotels.comCash and OneKeyCash don’t expire as long as you make an eligible booking or spend some on Hotels.com, Expedia or Vrbo at least once every 18 months; after 18 months with neither, the whole balance goes. On Hotels.com, nights towards the £100 and pending Hotels.comCash expire after 12 months without a Hotels.com booking or redemption. Promotional cash can expire sooner, and converted stamps, reward nights and old OneKeyCash keep their original dates until your next booking or redemption.
What happened to Hotels.com free nights?
In the UK they have gone. Stamps and reward nights from the old Hotels.com Rewards were converted to Hotels.comCash, which keeps their original expiry dates until you next book or spend on Hotels.com, Expedia or Vrbo; after that, the 18-month rule applies. Hotels.com still gives stamps in some other countries, but the UK terms say those rules don’t apply here.
Can you use OneKeyCash on flights?
Yes, on selected flights booked on Expedia, but only if you have enough to cover the whole fare, including taxes and fees. It can’t pay for bags, seat choice or flight changes. Flights booked alone also earn only 0.2% back.
How do you redeem Hotels.com rewards?
Sign in, choose a Pay Now rate on a hotel or a participating holiday rental, and choose how much Hotels.comCash to apply at checkout. On a stay of several nights it is spread from the first night at the average nightly rate. Anything left stays in your account, and a part-payment is topped up by credit or debit card.
What are the One Key tiers?
Blue when you join, Silver at 5, Gold at 15 and Platinum at 30 nights or trip elements in a calendar year, counted across Hotels.com, Expedia and Vrbo. Higher tiers bring bigger Member Prices, VIP Access perks, 3% to 6% back at Expedia VIP Access properties, and earning on Vrbo. A tier lasts the rest of the year you reach it, the whole of the next, and until 28 February after that.
Is Hotels.com Rewards free?
Yes. Hotels.com says Hotels.com Rewards is free to join, and Expedia says the same of One Key. You must be 18 or over with an email address, and creating an account makes you a member. Companies, groups and travel agents can’t join.
